Whoop - de - friggen - do

Once again, the set is missing some very important sessions. Sessions that, due to scheduling at such an incredibly busy conference, I really wanted to attend.
Come on, this is the 21st century. Video recording and production costs are nothing compared to what they used to be. We (those of us who attend Lotusphere) are a very technology savvy bunch; why can't this problem be solved? How much more effort would it take on the part of IBM to record every session (OK, skip repeats) and make them available for purchase? I cannot figure out any reason why all of the sessions are not included.

Gravatar Image1 - It amazes me how precious IBM and the organizers view this content and how they act like controlling it will somehow benefit them. Sadly the concepts of collaboration and empowerment seem to be lost on them.Emoticon

Gravatar Image2 - I'd really be happy if they would even tell us where the supposed MP3's were. They trumpeted their use on the Lotusphere On-Line site, but I have seen nothing. Obviously, it would be better to have video, but at least the audio would provide some context for the slides.

Gravatar Image3 - @1, @2: I absolutely agree with both of you.

The presentation PDFs are nice to have, although now a PIA to get: { Link } However nice it is to have the PDFs, they loose all context without the presentation video (or at least audio) to support them.

Case in point: I can look at the slides for BP303 all day long, but without hearing or seeing what Russell Mullen and Steve Caudill have to say on the subject, the slides are worthless.

grrr Emoticon

Gravatar Image4 - I'll have to agree with your rant. Video production costs are minute these days. So small in fact, that after TechEd (M$ big annual conference) they sent a dvd set containing all the sessions to all attendees for free. I didn't even have to ask for one, it just showed up.
