Christmas Brews Finished
So I finally got the labels for the Christmas Brews finished. I just finished the labels for the Stout tonight. I did the Christmas Ale labels 10 minutes before I had to leave for the family Christmas party on Christmas Eve (bit of a race). The Christmas Ale came out great. It has a beautiful head, is a nice mellow medium dark amber, and finishes nicely.
The Stout needed this extra week though. So even though it is labeled "Christmas Stout", it is actually more of a New Year's Stout. I'm really happy with the way it came out. Granted, I was a bit worried about it earlier, but it just needed a little time. It is rich, dark, and creamy. There is a good hoppy bite, without getting bitter. The head is thick rich, and creamy (check the pic, -yes, that is the bottle cap floating on the head).
I gave away most of the Ale as Christmas presents (I did keep 4 of the 22oz bottles for myself). Because the Stout needed more time, I wasn't able to give any of it away as Christmas presents (with the exception of 4 bottles that I gave away to my neighbor tonight). So now I have 2 cases (12 oz) of this wonderful Christmas Irish Stout sitting here in my office. What ever shall I do?
