I can't give the details at this time, but right now I feel a little bit like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Thank you, fourth man (you know who you are).

Gravatar Image1 - Have fun...

Gravatar Image2 - I always thought that was one of the more ironic Bible stories. How does Nebuchadnezzar convert? It is not through faith, but through evidence. He throws 3 men into a fire and sees a fourth man who guides them out unharmed. That's some pretty huge evidence -- particularly in an era where the idea of something you see not being real is unheard of.

Gravatar Image3 - That's an interesting point. I guess I've paid more attention to the faith of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (particularly verse 3:18) and how they were saved from the furnace rather than the conversion of Nebuchadnezzar.

You're right about Nebuchadnezzar converting after witnessing a miracle -although I'm a firm believer that God did, does, and will use miracles for the purpose of bringing people (not always the subject of the miracle) closer to Him.

Some of the greatest heroes from the Bible needed this kind of occasional "kick in the pants" (such as Moses and the burning bush, Abraham and the ram, or disciples of Jesus and the stormy sea).

Thanks,
-Devin.

Gravatar Image4 - So if Nebuchadnezzar, Moses, Abraham and the disciples of Jesus all get miracles to convince them.... then I'll be waiting for mine.

Gravatar Image5 - @Nathan- Aren't we all??? (Free Lotusphere ticket from the sky, free Lotusphere ticket from the sky, free Lotusphere ticket from the sky...)

Seriously, I think that God not only gives 'a kick' to those that need convincing, but also for those of us that sometimes 'lose our way'. Either way, at the end, you want to play for 'the Home Team'.
